Credit Crunch – A Rhapsody For Some

They say that laughter is the best medicine. Well this might explain the multitude of so-called ‘Credit Crunch’ parodies emerging of late.

These range from re-writes of Queen’s drunken karaoke favourite, Bohemian Rhapsody, a slide show of how sub-prime was sold and packaged as investments and also a flow chart apparently emanating from Societe Generale detailing what to do when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar.

Like all major tragedies the humourists out there have been quick to pounce with their own, usually less than tasteful, take on events.

First up are the Queen-style lyrics…

Credit Crunch Rhapsody – read to the tune of Queen’s version (sing out loud if you wish or if you have your own office…)

#Is this the real price?

#Is this just fantasy?

#Financial landslide

#No escape from reality

#Open your eyes

#And look at your buys and see.

#I’m now a poor boy

#High-yielding casualty

#Because I bought it high, watched it blow, Rating high, value low,

#Any way the Fed goes

#Doesn’t really matter to me,

#Mama – just killed my fund

#Quoted CDO’s instead

#Pulled the trigger, now it’s dead

#Mama – I had just begun

#These CDO’s have blown it all away!

Next up is the Societe Generale Crisis Managamenet Flow Chart…

And finally, we’ve managed to get our hands on a crude analysis of how the sub-prime led credit crisis came about.

Below is a screenshot from a rather blunt assessment of the whole issue (the author may have been caught in the process given the underlying level of bitterness).
