Stand Out From The Rab-ble

RaboPlus, the online banking service of Rabobank Australia, has rolled out two quirky ads to promote its wares in a the very competitive high interest savings market.

One of the ads asks consumers how secure their savings are currently – asking if they know whether or not their money is actually invested in pyramid schemes, Bolivian mung beans or through mob connections?

While other high interest savings providers seem to focus purely on the rate of interest on offer – RaboPlus has built an interesting story around the rates it offers and its reliability as a bank.

By using a flow chart with humourous ‘yes-no’ options consumers can spend a minute or so getting involved in the ads – the first is for its high interest account, the second is letting those people who don’t know it that it’s a large and reliable institution.

For those people who aren’t interested in opening a high interest savings account but are want more money, one of the ads quips that they should get a second job and wishes them good luck in winning lotto.

RaboPlus in Australia offers consumers access to a single online platform that incorporates high-interest savings, term deposits and direct access to a range of mainly wholesale managed funds.

RaboPlus is purely online with no retail outlets or phone banking services.
