Turkish Customer Delight

Dynamism, energy and vitality are not often words you would associate with the banking world – but this is not the case in Turkey where one bank has taken these traits and incorporated them into its business.

Istanbul-based AkBank, the most profitable private owned bank in Turkey, has just been recognised as the Best Bank in Turkey by Global Finance Magazine after being rated across a range of areas such as growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, innovative products and competitive pricing.

Akbank operates out of headquarters in Istanbul and its 13 regional directorates in Turkey, and has a distribution network that includes 658 branches and 11,186 employees.

The above video clip is one of a series of ads the group has been running lately and depicts from a branding perspective how the bank, which is 20 per cent owned by US-giant Citigroup, is positioning itself as a leading light in the banking market.

Using hundreds of people and video editing software the above ad shows a number of lively images being created with a common theme of movement and action running throughout the clip.

The images include a smiling face, a flowing river, a pounding heart, a running man and a tree growing.

This perception of dynamism has clearly been followed through with action and therein business success as the bank has also been Turkey’s Best Bank for the past seven years in the eyes of Euromoney Magazine.
